A House is not a Home

truck, billboard, driver, 2012 (Sydney Biennale intervention)

In anonymously attributing my characteristics – not circumcised, lactose, and sometimes child intolerant – to famous artists I have attempted to shift the public’s relationship to their practice…

That in not being circumcised Donald Judd was perhaps a compromised minimalist, that the public toughness of Santiago Sierra might mask a soft, private underbelly and so on…

For four days the truck was ‘paraded’ through the city streets and parked near key Biennale venues; thereby engaging the external, public. The truck was also driven repeatedly around the cul-de-sac in front of my parents’ house (where I grew up, in Baulkham Hills); thereby engaging the personal, private.
